HC Deb 07 December 1939 vol 355 c817
64. Mr. Brooke

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Education whether it is intended by Circular 1486 that a single local youth committee should attempt to meet the needs of the whole of London, or that separate committees should be established for each Metropolitan borough or group of boroughs?

Mr. Munro

It will be for the London County Council, as the local education authority for the administrative county, to decide, in consultation with the other bodies concerned, what, if any, modification of the existing machinery is required. My hon. Friend will, however, observe that the circular specifically contemplates special arrangements in county areas for the association of the youth committee with other local authorities within the area.
