HC Deb 05 December 1939 vol 355 c439
46. Mr. De la Bère

asked the Prime Minister whether he will find time for a debate for the purpose of considering what steps can be taken to improve transport conditions throughout the country?

The Prime Minister

I would remind my hon. Friend that it is open to him to raise any specific points to which he wishes to call attention on the Motion for the Adjournment.

Mr. De la Bère

Is my right hon. Friend aware that the restrictions placed on road transport have led to an increased burden on the railways, and that transport is not the prerogative of the railways? Is it not necessary to have the right goods delivered at the right places at the right time?
