HC Deb 05 December 1939 vol 355 cc428-9
26. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that Regular Army reservists called up in September last have not yet received that portion of the quarterly pay due to them at the end of August; whether he is aware that this has added to domestic financial difficulties; and when that outstanding pre-war reservist pay is likely to be paid?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

I am informed that balances of reserve pay and bounty were credited to the pay accounts of all reservists as soon as their joining on mobilisation was notified.

Mr. Sorensen

Is the right hon. Gentleman not aware that there are some cases where that has not been done, and will he consider any cases that I may send to him?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

Yes, Sir. Obviously, I was not aware of that or I should not have given the answer. If the hon. Member has any particulars of reservists and he will let me have them, I will see that they receive what is due to them.
