HC Deb 27 April 1939 vol 346 c1293
23. Mr. Rathbone

asked the Minister of Labour whether he has considered representations from West-country laundries against a proposed order by the Laundry Trade Board that the annual holiday with pay must be granted to employés between 1st April and 31st October; and whether he will take into consideration the difficulties that would be involved if such an order were made compulsory on laundries situated in holiday resorts, whose busiest season is between these dates?

Mr. E. Brown

No, Sir. This is a matter for the Laundry Trade Board. Before the proposals can be adopted the Board is required to consider any objection received within the statutory period, which expires on 11th June next.
