Commander Sir Archibald Southbyasked the Minister of Transport whether he is in a position to make any statement regarding the proposed by-pass road at Esher; and whether he can give an assurance that the amenities of Oxshot Common and open spaces in the neighbourhood will be carefully preserved?
§ Captain WallaceA public inquiry into the proposal to make an Order under Section 1 (3) of the Trunk Roads Act for a by-pass to Esher and Cobham will be held at Esher on Friday, 28th April. If an Order is made and constructional works are put in hand, every endeavour will be made to preserve the existing local amenities.
