HC Deb 04 April 1939 vol 345 cc2605-6
23. Lieut.-Colonel Macnamara

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that certain London Territorial units who changed their names two years ago are still obliged to wear the shoulder titles of units which have ceased to exist; and whether a decision may be given to their constant requests for appropriate titles; and when the Territorial Army may expect the new pattern trousers?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

There are nine such units remaining to be provided with new shoulder titles. In five cases, the new pattern has been approved and issues will be made as soon as supplies become available. In four cases the War Office are awaiting from the units particulars of the designs they wish to adopt. With regard to the last part of the question, half of the requirements are being met by the issue of new pattern trousers until existing stocks of the old pattern are exhausted, when all issues will be of the new pattern.
