§ 42. Mr. Whiteasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he can make any statement with regard to the present position of the Exchange Equalisation Fund?
§ The Financial Secretary to the Treasury (Captain Euan Wallace)In accordance with the promise which my right hon. Friend gave during the passage of the Exchange Equalisation Account Act, 1937, a statement of the position of the Account is published twice a year. The last such statement was made on 30th June last, and the next is due at the end of December. My right hon. Friend is not prepared to depart from this arrangement.
