HC Deb 28 November 1938 vol 342 cc38-9
78. Mr. Leach

asked the Home Secretary how many motorists who have been involved in one, two, three or more fatal accidents on the highways still retain driving licences?

Mr. Lloyd

The published return of offences relating to motor vehicles shows how many persons convicted of such offences have been disqualified from holding a driving licence, but the statistics do not distinguish between offenders who have been involved in accidents and other offenders and there are no figures available to give the information asked for.

Mr. Leach

If I put down a question in a fortnight's time, will the hon. Gentleman give me this information, which is highly desirable in the public interest?

Mr. Lloyd

I will see what can be done.
