asked the Minister of Labour the percentages of unemployment at the last available date covering the Hindley, Horwich, and Westhoughton Employment Exchanges, and for similar dates for the previous five years?

I am having the information extracted and will circulate a statement in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Mr. Davies

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the industrial situation has worsened so much during the last few years that in Hindley and district the percentage of unemployment there is now one of the highest in the land, and will he be good enough to take into account the serious situation in this part of Lancashire?

Mr. Brown

Perhaps the hon. Member will wait for the facts for which he has asked.
