HC Deb 15 November 1938 vol 341 cc692-3
Mr. Poole (by Private Notice)

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether he has any statement to make on the wreck of a Royal Air Force plane at Rugeley on Saturday last, when the crew of three were killed?

The Under-Secretary of State for Air (Captain Harold Balfour)

The aircraft in question belonged to No. 139 Squadron and was flying to No. 2 Armament Training Station at Aldergrove. A full official investigation of the circumstances is taking place, and until the report of this investigation is received, my right hon. Friend is not able to form any opinion as to the cause of the accident. I am sure the House will wish me to express their condolence with the relatives of the personnel involved.
