HC Deb 02 November 1938 vol 340 c186
8. Sir J. Mellor

asked the Prime Minister whether he will make a further statement with regard to the service of the loans issued by the Greek Government in the United Kingdom?

Mr. Butler

I regret to state that there has been no change in the position and that no offer has yet been received from the Greek Government in respect of these bonds which is acceptable either to the Council of Foreign Bondholders or to the League Loans Committee. It remains the full intention of His Majesty's Government to continue to do whatever is possible to bring about a satisfactory settlement.
