§ The First Commissioner of Works (Sir Philip Sassoon)The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The cause of the dispute was a demand by bricklayers and carpenters for an increase of 1½d. per hour in their rate of pay. Negotiations with a view to a settlement are still proceeding.
