HC Deb 25 May 1938 vol 336 cc1206-7
56. Sir R. Blair

asked the Secretary of State for Air what are the conditions of service and emoluments of the civilian medical officers employed at the recruiting depots in the large cities; and whether the memorandum, dated 17th March, 1938, has received consideration?

Sir K. Wood

Civilian medical practitioners employed at Royal Air Force recruiting depots receive an inclusive salary of £500 a year. Two officers in receipt of retired pay are paid at special rates. Appointments are on a non-pensionable basis and are subject to one month's notice on either side. I am giving consideration to the memorandum referred to by my hon. Friend.
