§ 4. Mr. Dayasked the Under-Secretary of State for India the number of cinematograph films that have been prohibited from exhibition in British India for the 12 months ended on the last convenient date?
§ Lieut.-Colonel MuirheadThe information is not available in this country and, since the prohibition of cinematograph films is a matter within the discretion of the Provincial Governments in India, my Noble Friend does not feel justified in calling for a report from India. It will be appreciated that the position has now changed since the period for which my predecessor supplied the information in response to the hon. Member's inquiry.
§ Lieut.-Colonel MuirheadThat is a matter for the Provincial legislature.
