§ Sir K. WoodThe Exchequer contributions referred to are based on the number of persons displaced from unfit property for whom accommodation in new houses is provided. Up to 31st March, 1938, the contributions promised to local authorities in the county of Durham are equivalent to an average of £ 10 per house per annum for 40 years.
