HC Deb 02 May 1938 vol 335 c509
49. Mr. Parker

asked the Minister of Health whether he will consider the difficulty of carrying out a fair assessment of houses on a basis of rents usual in the district in an area where most of the property belongs to owner-occupiers when preparing his new Assessment and Valuation Bill?

Mr. Bernays

I presume the hon. Member is referring to the proposed investigation of the allegations that a strict enforcement of the present law of assessment would involve hardship. The matter to which he refers will, of course, be borne in mind in that investigation.
