HC Deb 02 May 1938 vol 335 cc505-6
44. Mr. Viant

asked the Postmaster-General the age of the pensioned officer of the Criminal Investigation Department recently appointed to the post of inspector of doorkeepers, also the period of time for which he has been appointed; further, is this officer to train his successor?

Sir W. Womersley

The age of the officer is 48. There is no fixed period of appointment, and the question of training a successor does not at present arise.
