HC Deb 02 May 1938 vol 335 c513
68. Mr. De la Bère

asked the Minister of Transport whether his attention has been drawn to the large amount of capital in electricity undertakings throughout the country controlled by American interests; and whether he will consider introducing further legislation to prevent this?

Captain Hudson

I presume my hon. Friend is referring to electricity supply undertakings in Great Britain. I am not aware that any large amount of capital in these concerns is now controlled by American interests. The second part of the question does not, therefore, arise.

Mr. De la Bère

Is my hon. and gallant Friend aware that very grave dissatisfaction still exists in the Vale of Evesham over the charges for current there?
