HC Deb 23 March 1938 vol 333 cc1197-8
50. Mr. Sandys

asked the Minister for the Co-ordination of Defence whether, in view of the fact that our defence preparations are to be further intensified, he will reconsider his decision not to increase the accommodation available for food storage?

Sir T. Inskip

My hon. Friend is misinformed. No decision not to increase storage accommodation for food has been taken. At the present time plans involving the provision of certain additional s accommodation are under consideration.

Mr. Sandys

Is not my right hon. Friend aware that he made a statement in the Debate on this subject which was certainly generally interpreted as meaning that he did not consider an increase of accommodation or construction as being necessary?

Sir T. Inskip

I think that if my hon. Friend will read again what I said on 9th February, he will see that I did not rule out the provision of additional accommodation if it were ever found necessary.
