§ The Secretary for Mines (Captain Crookshank)During the year 1930, 765 coal-cutting machines and 228 conveyors were in use at mines, under the Coal Mines Act, in Lancashire and Cheshire. The corresponding figures for 1937 were 820 and 716 respectively.
