HC Deb 17 March 1938 vol 333 c594
73. Mr. Pethick-Lawrence

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether his attention has been drawn to the use by licensees of special removal orders, in a way not contemplated when the original Act was passed, whereby the payment of monopoly value is avoided; and whether he will consider introducing amending legislation to put an end to this practice?

Sir J. Simon

I have received representations on this subject, which I am carefully considering. I am, however, unable to make a statement at present.
