HC Deb 17 March 1938 vol 333 c592
66. Sir Joseph Leech

asked the Minister of Health whether he will at intervals during this year, as part of the policy of nutrition, fitness, and hygiene, urge public authorities to exercise more fully their powers to prevent promiscuous handling in warehouses, shops, and delivery receptacles of butter, cheese, meat, vegetables, and milk, so as to reduce the risk of food being contaminated before it reaches consumers' premises?

Sir K. Wood

I have no evidence of any general failure by local authorities in this matter, but if my hon. Friend has any particular instance in mind, I shall be glad to have it looked into.
