37. Mr. Jenkins

asked the Secretary for Mines whether he can state when the report of the Royal Commission on Mines will be completed and made available to Members of Parliament?

I cannot yet add anything to the reply I gave on 22nd December last, a copy of which I am sending to the hon. Member.

Mr. Jenkins

Is it a fact that the Commission have discontinued taking evidence and are preparing their report? If that be so, is it not possible for the Minister to indicate what date the report is likely to be published?

I have no information that the Commission are at that point, but I can tell the House that they are working very hard because they know that this is an urgent matter.
