HC Deb 15 March 1938 vol 333 c208
47. Mr. Liddall

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will consider granting some easement to licensed victuallers in respect of licence duties, as was first proposed by the then Chancellor in 1929; and whether he will be prepared to extend relief, provided under Section 45 of the Finance Act, 1909–10, by graduating rebates up to the proportions therein laid down in the case of licensed premises where the business carried on is not wholly that of retailing excisable liquor?

Sir J. Simon

My hon. Friend will not expect me to anticipate my Budget statement.
