HC Deb 29 June 1938 vol 337 c2076
Mr. W. S. Morrison

I beg to move, in page 48, line 4, after "Minister "to insert: (to be embodied in an order made by him). We had a discussion upon this point in Committee, and it was agreed then that where there is a levy of more than 6d. an order shall be laid before Parliament.

Amendment agreed to.

Further Amendment made: In page 48, line 8, at the end, insert: (3) An order of the Minister under this Section—

  1. (a) may be revoked or varied by a subsequent order of the Minister made thereunder,
  2. (b) shall be laid before Parliament as soon as may be after it is made;
and if either House within the next subsequent twenty-eight days on which that House has sat after the order has been laid before it resolves that the order be annulled the order shall thenceforth be void but without prejudice to the making of a new order."—[Mr. W. S. Morrison.]
