§ The Prime MinisterCases of the kind to which the hon. Member refers have doubtless occurred in the past. On this occasion His Majesty's Government have 1053 not sought or received any formal guarantee, but they would not have undertaken to recommend these credits to Parliament unless they had full confidence in the friendly intentions of the Turkish Republic towards this country.
