HC Deb 22 June 1938 vol 337 c1053
11. Mr. Roland Robinson

asked the Prime Minister what progress has been made in the negotiations with the United States of America with regard to the islands of Canton and Enderbury in the Southern Pacific Ocean?

Mr. Butler

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer which I gave him on 26th April, and to which at the moment I have nothing to add.

Mr. Robinson

How long have these negotiations been going on; and when does he expect a solution to be reached?

Mr. Butler

The negotiations have been going on for a considerable time, and I hope an agreement will be reached soon.
