asked the Secretary of State for Scotland the total acreage in Scotland under agricultural development for the years ended March, 1936, and 1938, respectively, and the number of persons employed in agriculture for the same period?

As the answer consists of a table of figures, I will, with the hon. Member's permission, circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Has the acreage under production increased or decreased in the period mentioned?

Mr. Wedderburn

I think the arable acreage has slightly decreased, and the grass acreage slightly increased.
