HC Deb 27 July 1938 vol 338 c3094
45. Mr. E. Smith

asked the Prime Minister whether he can make a statement on the Royal Commission that is to consider the Workmen's Compensation Act and the effect of accidents and industrial diseases on the lives of the people, and can he announce the names of the Commission and their terms of reference; and what action is to be taken with regard to the Departmental Committee's report with special reference to miners' nystagmus, medical examinations, certificates, and lump sum settlements?

The Prime Minister

I regret that I am not yet in a position to add to the answers which I gave on 21st July to questions by the hon. Member and the hon. Member for Spennymoor (Mr. Batey).
