HC Deb 20 July 1938 vol 338 c2190
55. Lieut.-Commander Fletcher

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether the report of the Rae Committee will be available for Members before the House rises, observing that this committee has been sitting since March to inquire into the working of a single directorate at the Air Ministry?

Captain Balfour

No, Sir.

Lieut.-Commander Fletcher

Can the hon. and gallant Gentleman give an assurance that in the event of this committee reporting while the House is not sitting and executive action being taken on their report, the House will nevertheless have an opportunity of debating that report?

Captain Balfour

That question should certainly not be addressed to me.
