HC Deb 20 July 1938 vol 338 cc2190-1
57. Rear-Admiral Sir Murray Sueter

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether a decision has been arrived at by the Air Ministry with the Treasury with regard to the Allied Airways service from Newcastle to Stavanger being allowed to rank for internal subsidy?

Captain Balfour

No, Sir. The matter is still under consideration. Allied Airways have been informed that no questions of application for internal subsidy can be considered until such routes are licensed by the recently appointed licensing authority, and that it will not be possible for this to take place during the present summer.

Mr. Mander

Can the Under-Secretary say when he thinks a decision will be arrived at?

Captain Balfour

I am afraid I cannot.
