HC Deb 20 July 1938 vol 338 c2197
70. Mr. Muff

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware of the danger to traffic between Leeds and Bradford at the junction of Pudsey Lane end; and, as the War Office is building an antiaircraft barracks at the junction, will he take steps to widen the approaches to the road and abolish blind corners and recommend that traffic lights shall be installed?

Mr. Burgin

No proposal for a road improvement at this junction has been submitted to me by the responsible highway authority. Traffic arrangements in operation at present are considered to be satisfactory but if traffic increases owing to further development, the possibility of installing traffic light signals will be examined.

Mr. Muff

Can the right hon. Gentleman state the authority which is responsible for this road?

Mr. Burgin

Not without notice.
