§ Lieut.-Colonel MuirheadAs regards 1937–38, complete information is not yet available, but as regards the earlier years, information about the trade between India and Japan is already published and is to be found, for instance, in Volume I of the Annual Statement of the Sea-borne Trade of British India, of which there is a copy in the Library. The exports from India to Japan include such commodities as raw cotton, pig iron, jute, and manganese ore, which may in varying degrees be used for warlike purposes.
