HC Deb 22 February 1938 vol 332 c161
7. Mr. Batey

asked the Secretary for Mines what further steps his Department propose to take on the Falmouth Committee's report on the extraction of oil from coal?

Captain Crookshank

My Department is being consulted in the consideration of the recommendations of the committee.

Mr. Batey

Does that mean that the Department is not proposing to do anything? Is it going to take any action?

Captain Crookshank

The hon. Gentleman may forget that this was a committee of the Committee of Imperial Defence. My Department is only one of those concerned in this matter.
