HC Deb 03 February 1938 vol 331 cc371-2
45. Sir Assheton Pownall

asked the Prime Minister what action the Government intend to take on the Departmental Committee's report which has been recently issued on the question of a pensions scheme for ex-Members of Parliament.

The Prime Minister (Mr. Chamberlain)

I am not yet in a position to make any statement on this subject.

Sir A. Pownall

Can my right hon. Friend say when he will be in a position to make a statement?

The Prime Minister

My hon. Friend will remember that, when I announced the appointment of the Committee to which he refers, I said that when I received their report I would consult certain hon. Members on the subject. I have not yet had an opportunity of doing so.
