§ Following is the reply:
§ were sent by the different Dominions to the question of how far they were prepared to accept refugees coming from Germany; and whether he can give any information as to the numbers they have already accepted and the numbers they are prepared to take?
Mr. M. MacDonaldThe Dominion Governments were themselves represented at the Evian meeting which recommended that the Governments participating in the Inter-Governmental Committee set up as a result of the meeting should continue to furnish the Committee, for its confidential information, with details regarding such immigrants as each Government may be prepared to receive under its existing laws and practices. As regards the last part of the question, I have no detailed information, except for the statement made recently on behalf of 985 the Australian Government that a quota of 15,000 refugees has been approved over the period of the next three years.
§ Mr. PriceCan the right hon. Gentleman say when he is likely to get replies from the other Dominion Governments.
Mr. MacDonaldThe Dominion Governments will send their replies to the Inter-Governmental Committee, and I shall get information in due course from that source.
