HC Deb 11 April 1938 vol 334 c746
29. Mr. De la Bère

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether, in view of the abnormally low prices which are being obtained for eggs by the poultry keepers at the present time, entailing them selling their eggs at a cost below that of production, he will take some action to assist them in this matter?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

I have nothing to add to the reply which I gave to the hon. Member for Normanton (Mr. T. Smith) on 14th February last.

Mr. De la Bère

Is my right hon. Friend aware how little has been done for the poultry keepers and how easily the virtue of patience can shade into the vice of indecision, and how blessed it would be if he could do something for them now?

Mr. Morrison

If my hon. Friend will look at the answer to which I have referred him, he will see the present state of the negotiations now proceeding.
