§ 32. Major Procterasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he will make a statement as to what steps he proposes to take to remedy the hardships and injustices occasioned to producers and producer-retailers by the operation of the Agricultural Marketing Acts under which they are required to appear in London before the respective boards to answer charges of contravening those Acts?
§ Mr. W. S. MorrisonI would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the assurances I gave on this subject during the Debate on the Report stage of the Sea-Fish Industry Bill on 7th April. I am not yet in a position to make any further statement, but I may say that I do not accept the implications in the question.
§ Major ProcterWill the right hon. Gentleman say what he really means by looking into this question? Is he going to set up a committee? If so, will it be a judicial committee?
§ Mr. MorrisonWhat I have in view is an examination of the whole matter, which affects not only one particular scheme but the whole of the schemes that are envisaged.
§ Major ProcterWill the right hon. Gentleman also consider the bad results arising out of these Socialist measures?
