HC Deb 04 April 1938 vol 334 cc21-2
39. Mr. Day

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether, when considering the annual tenancy agreement held by the Zoological Society of London from the Commissioners of Crown Lands on the land in Regent's Park, he will make representations to them that the Zoological Gardens shall be open to the public for not less than two Sundays in each month?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

The suggestion that the gardens held by the Zoological Society of London at Regent's Park should be opened to the public on Sundays has been considered on several occasions in the past but has not been found practicable.

Mr. Day

Will the Minister consider whether the change can be made for the advantage of foreign visitors?

Mr. Morrison

That is another question.
