§ Mr. ButlerI will, with the hon. Member's permission, circulate in the OFFICIAL REPORT a statement as to the manner in which the obligations imposed upon Czechoslovakia by Articles 10–13 in the Czechoslovak Minorities Treaty signed at Saint-Germain-en-Laye, are being carried out.
Following is the statement: A law was passed in June last by the Czechoslovak Parliament extending the powers of the Governor of Sub-Carpathian Russia and providing that he should be assisted by an advisory board until the establishment of the Diet for which provision is made in Article 11 of the Treaty. Furthermore, in a speech in October last President Benes announced that the first stage in the autonomy of the province had been realised and that further steps would be taken as soon as the special conditions of the province permitted towards 17 the complete fulfilment of the engagements assumed by the Czechoslovak State.
§ 7. Mr. Thorneasked the Prime Minister whether the Government will be represented at the Czechoslovakian celebration on 2oth May in connection with the agreement signed by Dr. Masaryk in Pittsburg between Czechoslovakia and America?
