HC Deb 21 October 1937 vol 327 cc20-1
45. Sir Assheton Pownall

asked the Prime Minister whether he can state the recommendations of the Departmental Committee set up to consider the possibility of a scheme for pensions for ex-Members of Parliament?

The Prime Minister (Mr. Chamberlain)

The Recess has necessarily delayed the investigations of the Departmental Committee which I appointed to consider the practical aspects of this suggestion. I am not yet in receipt of their report, which I understand will be ready in the course of a month or thereabouts.
