HC Deb 23 November 1937 vol 329 c1017
22. Mr. Mathers

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what has been the result of his inquiries into the refusal of the Edinburgh education committee to permit a tablet relating to Clarinda to be placed on the wall of Bristo school which occupies the site of the house in which she lived; and whether he can state the reason for this refusal?

Mr. Elliot

I am informed that the Edinburgh education committee decided yesterday to remit this matter back to their general purposes committee for further consideration. I shall communicate again with the hon. Member in due course.
