HC Deb 22 November 1937 vol 329 cc826-7
3. Mr. Jagger

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India why S. Mahmud U. Kaffar Khan had the whole of the books in his possession, the manuscript of a book of which he was the author, and the reports and resolutions of the International Peace Campaign (Geneva) taken from him by the Indian Sea Customs authorities on his recent return to India; and why he was subjected to a search of his person in a public lavatory at Ballana Pier, Bombay?

Lord Stanley

I regret that I have no information, but I will make inquiries from the Government of India.
