HC Deb 15 November 1937 vol 329 c20
34. Mr. E. J. Williams

asked the Minister of Agriculture what progress has been made in preparation for the cleaning of Ogmore River?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

I understand that the Mid-Glamorgan Rivers Catchment Board have prepared a scheme of works for the River Ogmore; that this scheme has been deposited by the Catchment Board locally for public inspection; and that it is the intention of the Catchment Board to take a final decision on the scheme in the near future, and thereafter to submit it to me for approval for a grant under Section 55 of the Land Drainage Act, 1930.

Mr. Williams

Will the Minister give the scheme favourable consideration?

Mr. Morrison

I would not like to prejudge it before I have had an opportunity of seeing the scheme, but I sympathise with the hon. Member's desire in this matter, and will do what I can to assist.
