HC Deb 15 November 1937 vol 329 c165

Resolution reported, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to lower from fifty years to forty years the age which blind persons must have attained in order to be entitled to old age pensions under the Old Age Pensions Act, 1936, and to amend the law with respect to the provision of assistance in relation to such persons by local authorities, it is expedient to authorise the payment, out of moneys provided by Parliament, of any increase of expenditure on account of such pensions which may be occasioned by lowering to forty years the age which blind persons must have attained in order to be entitled to such pensions.

Resolution agreed to.
