HC Deb 15 November 1937 vol 329 c4
7. Mr. Liddell

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will ascertain whether the Argentine Government proposes, and, if so, on what date, to render effective the Argentine Transport Co-ordination Act passed a year ago, as the delay in forming the commission under the Act is causing hardship to British subjects?

Viscount Cranborne

I understand that the President of the Argentine Republic has recently appointed the chairman of the National Co-ordination Commission. The next step will be for the Minister of Public Works to issue the necessary instructions for the election of representatives of various private interests concerned, after which it will remain for the Commission to commence its function of putting the law into effect.
