HC Deb 15 November 1937 vol 329 cc3-4
6. Mr. A. Henderson

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether it is the view of His Majesty's Government that the provisions of the Anglo-Egyptian Treaty require them to defend Egyptian territory in the event of Egypt becoming the victim of an act of unprovoked aggression?

Viscount Cranborne

Yes, Sir.

Mr. Henderson

When the Noble Lord says "Yes," does he mean that the Government intend to carry out this obligation?
