HC Deb 01 November 1937 vol 328 cc549-50
74. Mr. Viant

asked the Home Secretary whether it is his intention to issue instructions for the guidance of magistrates when persons are summoned for the non-provision of anti-dazzle headlights to motor cars?

Mr. Lloyd

The regulations made by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Transport have been circulated to all Courts of Summary Jurisdiction in England and Wales, and my right hon. Friend sees no ground, at present at any rate, for any further action on his part in the matter.

Mr. Viant

Has the Minister of Trans port supplied the Courts of Summary Jurisdiction with a definition of what is and what is not an anti-dazzle headlamp?

Mr. Lloyd

I cannot say without notice.
