HC Deb 31 May 1937 vol 324 cc673-4
55. Sir N. Grattan-Doyle

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware that some registration officers are issuing forms to occupiers requiring them under penalty to complete and send the return within seven days from a date which is unspecified owing to their failure to complete the form by the insertion of the date of despatch; and whether, with a view to removing any possible difficulties, he will give directions that the registration officer shall fill in the date prescribed before despatch?

The Secretary of State for the Home Department (Sir Samuel Hoare)

My attention has not been called to this matter, but if my hon. Friend will be good enough to give me particulars of any cases of which he has knowledge, I shall be glad to make inquiries.
