HC Deb 25 May 1937 vol 324 c103
21. Mr. De la Bere

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he can now announce his intention to take some steps to assist poultry farmers forthwith, seeing that there must be some delay before the new trade agreements come up for consideration?

The Minister of Pensions (Mr. Ramsbotham)

I have been asked to reply. My right hon. Friend is not in a position to make any further statement of policy concerning the poultry industry.

Mr. De la Bere

Will the Minister ask the right hon. Gentleman whether it will be possible for the right hon. Gentleman to ask his Cabinet colleagues whether they really know what a Cabinet Minister should know about the poultry industry?

Mr. Turton

Is my hon. Friend aware that the present price of eggs is 10½d. per dozen, and that the price of duty-free feeding stuffs has risen and has been rising for some months; and will he take these matters into the most urgent consideration?
